Brands We Carry

A designer brand in a jewelry case is a promise about two things: who made the piece, and who stands behind it.

We carry nine, and we chose each one because it does something the others do not. Every brand below is one you can see and try on at 500 Boston Post Road. Photographs are useful. Putting a ring on your own hand under real light is not the same thing, and it is the reason people still drive to Orange to buy a ring they first saw on a screen.

Bridal and engagement

Simon G.

Los Angeles · Since 1981

18K Platinum Hand set

Simon Ghanimian founded the company in Los Angeles in 1981, having learned the trade from his father and grandfather. It is still family run, now led by his son Zaven.

Simon G. works only in 18 karat gold and platinum. Every piece is handmade, every stone is hand set, and each one passes through eight to ten quality checks before it leaves the workshop. That standard shows up in the small places: the finish inside a shank, the evenness of a milgrain edge, the way a halo sits.

If you want detail work that rewards a second look, this is the case to start at.

Zeghani

Los Angeles · By the Ghanimian family

14K Palladium

Zeghani was started by Simon Ghanimian's sons, with their father's backing, to answer a question they kept hearing: can I get a designer engagement ring for two and a half to three and a half thousand dollars, center stone included?

The answer was to build in 14 karat gold and palladium instead of 18 karat and platinum, and to keep the design discipline of the parent company. Same family, same eye, a different price.

People who look at Simon G., love the look but not the number, usually find what they wanted here.

ArtCarved

Brooklyn · Since 1850

14K 18K Platinum Palladium

ArtCarved is the oldest bridal name in America. J.R. Wood opened a shop on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn in 1850, and his first engagement ring, the Victoria, was named for Queen Victoria.

The company invented things the rest of the industry now takes for granted. The first seamless soldered wedding ring in the 1890s. The first illustrated catalog for couples in 1909, so a ring could be chosen at home. The carved detailing of the 1920s that gave the brand its name.

For anyone who wants a ring with genuine history behind the name rather than a marketing story, this is it.

Ritani

Engagement and wedding

French set Micropavé

Ritani builds engagement rings and wedding bands around precision setting work, and is known particularly for French set and micropavé diamonds, where the metal almost disappears and the stones seem to sit on their own.

It suits someone who wants a classic silhouette executed to a high standard rather than a design that announces itself.

Bassali

Family run · Bridal

Hand engraved Milgrain

Bassali is a family run bridal house known for hand engraving, milgrain detail and vintage-inspired settings.

The work has a quieter, more antique feel than most modern bridal lines. It is the case people gravitate to when they want a ring that could plausibly have belonged to a grandmother.

Wedding bands for men

Lashbrook

Made in the USA · Built to order

Titanium Zirconium Cobalt chrome Tantalum Damascus Meteorite Hardwood Cerakote

Lashbrook is the most customizable band on the market, and it is not close. You choose the material, the profile, the inlay, the finish and the engraving, and the ring is built to that specification in the United States.

The material list is the point. Gold and platinum sit alongside genuine meteorite, Damascus steel, carbon fiber and hardwood inlays, and anodized titanium can be finished in colors from green through indigo.

If you work with your hands, or you simply do not want the same band as everyone else, this is where to look.

Triton

New York · Alternative metals

TC850 Tungsten Cobalt

Triton specializes in alternative metal bands built for men who actually wear them all day. The brand is best known for its patented TC850 tungsten carbide formula.

Tungsten holds a polish that gold cannot, resists scratching, and costs a fraction of a precious metal band.

One thing worth knowing before you buy: tungsten cannot be resized, and in an emergency it is removed by cracking rather than cutting. We will explain all of that at the counter, because it matters more than the price.

Fashion and everyday

Shy Creation

Diamond fashion jewelry

14K Diamond

Shy Creation makes diamond fashion jewelry in 14 karat gold at prices that make it wearable rather than occasional. Pendants, stacking rings, bracelets and huggie earrings, designed to be layered and worn daily rather than kept in a box.

It is the line people come back for, one piece at a time, over years.

Belle Etoile

San Francisco Bay Area

.925 Silver Rhodium Italian enamel Nickel free

Belle Étoile, pronounced bell eh-twahl, is an award-winning company working in hand-painted Italian enamel over sterling silver.

Everything is crafted in .925 sterling, nickel free and hypoallergenic, and rhodium plated so it does not tarnish. The enamel is applied with a cold enameling technique that keeps the coats thick, which is why the color stays true and the surface takes daily wear.

Collections run through Italian Enamel, Italian Resin, Italian Rubber, Seashell Pearl and Color Stone. It is the most colorful case in the store and the one that gets picked up the most.
